Information Technology

Information Technology

240 Wexham Road Surgery is keen to use technology to enable the smooth running of a patient's NHS journey. Here are some ways we are using technology to help you.

Referral Management

In keeping with national standards, the patient's NHS number is the primary identifier in all NHS clinical correspondence issued by the practice.

Electronic Appointment Booking

We offer the facility for all patients over the age of 18 who have their own email address to book, view, amend, cancel and print a number of appointments online.

Online booking of repeat prescriptions

We offer the facility for all patients who wish to order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for necessary drugs, medicines and appliances.

GP2GP Records

It is very important that you are registered with a doctor at all times. If you leave your GP and register with a new GP, your medical records will be removed from your previous doctor and forwarded onto your new GP surgery via NHS England. It can take several weeks for your paper records to reach your new surgery. With GP to GP record transfers, your electronic record is transferred to your new practice much sooner.

Patient Access to their GP record

If you would like access to your current medication, allergies and immunisation history, please ask at Reception. If you are currently registered for on-line appointments, we are able to give you access, please bring 2 forms of ID (one to be photographic) and we will generate a password for you.
