Keeping your contact details up to date

It is very helpful if patients can keep their contact details up to date.  When you come to see us, it would be much appreciated if you could complete the form that is on the reception desk, to let us know your current email address and mobile number.  This will allow us to communicate more effectively with you.

Health information in other languages

We are proud to serve a very diverse community.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to provide patient information leaflets in the surgery that cover the many different languages that are spoken by our patients.  Instead, we wish to advise you about the Medline Plus service that provides information in 50 languages and can be found from this link:

There is also a good source of Patient Information leaflets on the Patient.Info website which also has a TRANSLATE button where you can translate all their Patient Information Leaflets into numerous languages at the click of a button. The link is;  for leaflets and advice in all languages.


Young teenagers, sixth formers and 'fresher' students going to university for the first time are advised to have a vaccination to prevent meningitis W disease. The Men ACWY vaccine is given by a single injection into the upper arm and protects against four different causes of meningitis and septicaemia  meningococcal (Men) A, C, W and Y diseases.  For more information, please visit the NHS Choices website -

"You said, we did..."

The practice gathers feedback from various places, such as national patient surveys, complaints received and the Friends and Family Test.  We discuss this with the Patient Participation Group and consider which improvements could be made.  The two most common themes recently have been about the difficulty of making an appointment and getting through to the practice on the phone. 

To address these issues, we have already recruited a new nurse and are trying to attract another GP to the practice. We are also purchasing a new telephone system which we hope will improve our patients' experience of contacting us by phone. We hope our new telephone system will be in place in early September 2016.


Friends and Family Test

The Friends and Family Test is a very short survey that is now used throughout the NHS.  It would be much appreciated if you could complete a form after your visit to the practice.  Our aim is to receive 50 completed surveys each month.

Updated Statement from Dr Sharma Surgery

The Practice is pleased to report that following a re-inspection by the CQC on 30th August 2016, the CQC has now published its latest report on 27th October 2016 following this inspection.

As a result, the Practice has been taken out of Special Measures and been awarded a rating of Requires Improvement. We are delighted that this improvement has been recognised by CQC and spurs us on to continue our efforts of improving the Practice and leaving behind the previous inadequate rating.

Our Patient Participation Group has been closely involved with during this period and we thank them sincerely for their help and support. Many patients also came forward to support our re-visit for which we are very grateful.

Since the original inspection, many changes and improvements have been made to some administrative and organisational aspects of the Practice which were required to be addressed.
