Patient Survey - April 2018
The standard opening times of the practice are set out below. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays the last appointment is at 6.40 to make it easier for working age people to access a GP or a nurse.
The practice also participates in a scheme across Slough that provides evening and weekend GP appointments and nurse appointments.
These are available until 8pm each evening and from 9-1 on Saturdays and Sundays. but you will be seeing a doctor or nurse who is not from the practice but who will have access (with your consent) to your medical records. These additional slots can be booked through reception in the usual way but they are delivered at Bharani Medical Centre, Lansdowne Avenue, Slough SL1 3SJ. If you need to cancel a booked appointment at Bharani Medical Centre, their number is 01753 218380.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
If you want to discuss any health related problems with a GP and you think that you do not need face to face consultation we are able to arrange a telephone consultation between 1pm-1:30pm and 6:30pm-7pm Monday to Friday.
We are also closed once a month for protected learning time from 13:00 onwards. In this instance please call 111. The dates for protected learning time are:
Changes to Extended Access Service in Slough
From Monday 10 September 2018, the Extended Access to General Practice services will be led by one General Practice provider operating out of a centralised location in Slough. The service will offer additional appointments with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and phlebotomists, providing greater availability for appointments and flexibility for patients.
The service will continue to be provided by Bharani Medical Centre but from their practice in Lansdowne Avenue, Slough, SL1 3SJ. Clinics will operate on Monday to Friday from 6.30pm-8.00pm and between 9am -2pm on Saturday and Sunday, and will see registered patients from all GP practices in Slough. These appointments need to be booked through your own practice.
The change will allow for greater consistency in the services being provided, as well as greater efficiency in delivering the service from one location. Furthermore, it will enable the service to recruit better to deliver the services and to extend the care that can be provided such as more phlebotomy.
Extended Access to General Practice services appointments are in addition to any extended hours appointments already being offered by some individual GP practices. All appointments to general practice services are available via your practice and should be booked in this way.
