Changes to Extended Access Service in Slough

From Monday 10 September 2018, the Extended Access to General Practice services will be led by one General Practice provider operating out of a centralised location in Slough. The service will offer additional appointments with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and phlebotomists, providing greater availability for appointments and flexibility for patients.

The service will continue to be provided by Bharani Medical Centre but from their practice in Lansdowne Avenue, Slough, SL1 3SJ. Clinics will operate on Monday to Friday from 6.30pm-8.00pm and between 9am -2pm on Saturday and Sunday, and will see registered patients from all GP practices in Slough. These appointments need to be booked through your own practice.

The change will allow for greater consistency in the services being provided, as well as greater efficiency in delivering the service from one location. Furthermore, it will enable the service to recruit better to deliver the services and to extend the care that can be provided such as more phlebotomy.

Extended Access to General Practice services appointments are in addition to any extended hours appointments already being offered by some individual GP practices. All appointments to general practice services are available via your practice and should be booked in this way.
