Community Midwife

Antenatal clinic is run by the community midwife on Monday's and Thursday's between 09:30 and 12:30. This is by appointment only and can be booked through reception. We are constantly fully booked so please keep up your appointment.

Health Visitor

Health visitor is concerned with the health of the whole community, having particular responsibility for the under 5’s.The health visiting team provide child health surveillance services for the under fives.

Cervical Smear Tests

Smears are performed by the practice nurse. The result will be sent to you by NHS England via post unless otherwise indicated. If you do not want to take up this advice please see the doctor who will discuss this with you. You are advised to make an appointment to see the doctor to discuss the result if necessary.

Vaccinations & Immunisations for children

  • First baby checks are made by your GP at six to eight weeks.
  • Childhood immunisations are highly recommended by all the doctors and are discussed fully with parents or guardians. These are carried out by one of the practice nurses.
  • Anyone other than parents who bring the baby/child for vaccination will be required to bring a written consent from one of the parents before the vaccine/s can be given.

Adult Vaccination

An adult requires a Tetanus vaccination every 10 years. If you are due for one ,or unsure, please ask at reception.

Influenza Vaccination

We particularly recommend this for anyone over the age of 65 and those suffers from heart, chest problem, diabetes and asthma or any other chronic illness. It is given every year and patients are advised to make appointments from September onwards. Pneumonia vaccine is given to those over 65, only once. If you haven’t had one, please ask at reception.

You will need time to have the necessary course so try and book appointments at least 8 weeks in advance, booking through reception. Private prescriptions will be charged and there will be a charge for some foreign immunisation and pre-employment vaccinations. More information is available on the above tab.
